For the information of parents, the premier of NSW, Gladys Berijiklian, and the NSW Education Minister, Sarah Mitchell, has said:
· Schools will now move to an online learning model.
· There will be one single unit of teaching for children at school and at home.
· There won't be a separate class for kids at home, there won't be a separate class for kids at school, which makes it simple and practical
· Whether parents choose to send their children to school or supervise their learning at home, they will have access to units of work.
In order to meet the needs of students and families, Glendenning PS is currently developing learning activities that will be available online via Google Classroom.
So, all children, whether at home or at school, will access work online. Children will do the same work at home, as at school.
Work will be posted, using Google Classroom, daily (Monday-Friday) at 8.30 am.
Students will complete their written work in the workbook provided as necessary. If you require a workbook, they are available in the front office.
Parents/students can ask teachers questions using Google Classroom. Teachers will respond between the hours of 8.30am-3.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Parents/carers are responsible for giving children feedback about the work they are completing.
Parents are advised that to maintain ‘normality’ for their children, online learning should only be undertaken between 9am-3pm.
Feedback to Students - Each teacher will be able to respond to students when they ask questions. In some classes students will be able to:
see a long list of student names, questions and answers whilst in others they will be able to
see individual names and responses in a ‘box’ format.
No matter which system each teacher uses, students can gain understanding by:
Posting their questions
Reading the teacher’s response
Reading the questions from other students and the answers they are given.
